The Galapagos Islands are located 600 miles off the coast of Ecuador on Northwest South America. The most popular island to fish for striped marlin is San Cristobal. The incredible abundance of marine life and upwellings caused by the various currents makes it a marlin massing hotspot.
Striped marlin 120 to 300 pounds come to feed in packs on the large populations of sardines. There are many banks, seamounts and drop offs to target striped, blue and black marlin. Striped marlin feeding on the surface is generally a daily occurrence.
Anglers who are fortunate enough to fish some of the hottest bites can sometime experience upwards of 100 raises of marlin in a single day. Most days you can expect to raise 5 to 50 marlin in the spread daily. The generally calm and reasonable seas year round make it an idea place to fish anytime.

In The Galapagos Since 1993
Through the years there have been others trying to imitate our success. However, having the local know how, the trusted staff and knowing where and what to do comes only with almost 30 years of experience and presence in the Galapagos.
Ecuagringo started hosting hunting and adventure trips in 1993 in the Galapagos Islands. We understand that it takes much more than just having a boat or in our case a fleet of boats to develop the most active and successful custom fishing charter business in the Galapagos that has existed.
Countless hours and days have been put in to explore, research and find the areas and what works the best for all the species available to target in the Galapagos. Year after year we have more repeat customers than anyone else in the Galapagos sport fishery.
